10 reviews for Amazon Basic Care Loperamide Hydrochloride Tablets, 2 mg, Anti-Diarrheal, 24 Count

This otc anti-diarrheal is just ok. {Imodium is the brand) Blister packaging makes it hard to retrieve a caplet in an emergency. I realize that it is safety sealed, but when you gotta go, you don’t want to be fighting with a blister pack. The caplets are large and difficult to swallow. That was my personal experience.

  2. Courtney

I happened across Amazon’s brand of Imodium and decided to give it a try because I didn’t want to pay the high price for the name brand. I didn’t have high expectations but the pills do what I need them to do and that’s what matters. There are a lot of reviews that complain about the packaging being hard to open but I don’t have that issue. I’ve been able to open the individual tablets with my nails, scissors and even a pen at one point. I don’t recommend trying to tear it open because even if you cut it first, it’s a pain to tear. I suggest just opening the little bubble where the tablet is sitting. And honestly, if the pill does what it needs to, why complain about how hard it is to open?I recommend these for anyone who is looking for an inexpensive alternative to the name brand pill.

  3. Kindle Customer

It works – helps my IBS. I just hate the packaging of the small tablets in foil.

  4. Tyler Howes

This stuff works great! It literally converts anything that was going to be liquid stool into gas 🤣 but hey, it sure clogs ya up.My only negative comment is how painful it is to get the pills out of their plastic holder. I wish they just came in a bottle. It’s pretty intense when you’re trying to get a couple of these puppies out when you’re squeezing your cheeks together.

  5. AN

Given the nature of this products intended use, you’d think they’d make the tablets easier to remove from their individual packaging. Do us all a solid* and either package them loose* or include scissors in the package. Seriously guys; you’re in the diarrhea business.*pun intended

  6. Rachel Berman

Helped with ibs. And when I have to drive a lot for work and have had coffee and all the bathrooms are closed, life saver..

  7. Gina Bina

Works great. Packaging is annoying but if you bend the pill packs back and forth on the perforated line a few times it makes it a lot easier to open without having to use scissors.

  8. Nurse 3811

I finally looked it up -the FDA made a decision in 2020- due to the misuse of loperamide it must be sold in difficult to open blister packs in quantities no larger than 48 . Apparently some people would take over 100 tabs at a time to get high , since it works on Opiate receptors. I’m thinking to take an old pill bottle , labeling it well, and taking an afternoon to sit down with scissors and opening these dang things in bulk. Ah, modern world problems…

  9. JT

My butt is now happy. HAHA!

  10. WLH

And don’t already know what it does, let me help you:You eat the recommended dose and your body will close up. Anything that doesn’t make the airlock gets shot into space, and then you guys hunker down until ideally maybe 1 or 2 meals later. Possibly even a whole sleep later.Drink lots of water.
